c.1962 Ichimura, Volkswagen 1500 2-door Sedan in Original Box
Outstanding mint in box tin litho friction drive 2-door sedan Volkswagen 1500 built from 1962-65. This Japanese made toy was accurately rendered right down to the VW hood ornament. Mint in box vehicle comes complete with original box. All tin litho car features one-piece folded tin interior with lithoed dashboard and steering wheel, chrome plated bumpers, headlights and windshield frame, bubble type metal hubcaps with authentic VW logos, celluloid windshield, Volkswagen license plate, and solid rubber tires. Single plate undercarriage embossed with "VOLKSWAGEN". Original box includes a very nice illustration of the car along with several VW logos. It's also the only spot where the manufacturer's logo appears. It would be impossible to identify the manufacturer without it. Size: 7". Sold: Jun. 2005
